About Eye lid surgery / Blepharoplasty for Men
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at improving the aging aspect of eyelids by reducing bagginess from lower eyelids and removing excess skin from the upper eyelids.
It can be performed on its own or as part of a bigger procedure.
Eye lid surgery takes place at a surgical room under general anesthesia and usually takes between 2 and 3 hours.
Eye lids will be swollen, bruising will be notorious for a few days.
Possible loss of vision and droopy eyelid may occur; hyper sensibility to light will disappear in 2 or 3 weeks.
Relative rest is recommended for the first 2 or 3 days, avoiding strenuous activities for the first month and using sun glasses while bruises are present.
Eye lid surgery is a very safe procedure and risks could be avoided when following the surgeon´s advice. Minor complications may include glare, halos and double vision, dry eyes, swelling or asymmetric healing.
Scars will be invisible in a few months. Patients can expect their results to last for many years as long as they properly protect the eye area from sun exposure. Must of the time, eye bags won´t appear again.
