About Permanent laser hair removal
This permanent, safe, fast and proven treatment of removing hair produces visible results since the first sessions.
The laser beams highly concentrated light into hair follicles. A thermic damage is produced when pigment (melanin) in the follicles absorb the light, preventing hair to grow again.
Hair laser removal is the most efficient technique to eliminate hair: it eliminates hair in an 80 to 90%.
1. What are the advantages of hair laser removal vs other hair removal methods?
This technique ensures long lasting results while progressively improving the skin quality as it eliminates ingrown hairs, folliculitis and skin irritations caused by traditional removal methods.
2. Is it safe?
It is a very simple technique when done at a certified center and under the supervision of a specialized doctor.
3. How many sessions would I need?
That depends on each person, on the area to be treated and on the type of hair. In general, 10 sessions are required to obtain permanent results. Patients repeat the treatment every 4 to 6 weeks depending on the length hair growth.
In certain areas like the face more sessions may be required either for both men and women. Regardless of the area, maintenance sessions are needed between 2 or 3 times a year.
4. Is it painful?
A moderate heat sensation will disappear in a few minutes. As everyone’s pain tolerance is different, and depending on the area to be treated, discomfort will be more or less notorious. A numbing cream can be used before the procedure if the patient wants it.
5. Can it be done in any part of the body?
As this technology has evolved tremendously since its creation in the 90s, laser hair removal can be applied in almost all parts of the body. We, at AG use the diode laser systems of 800nm wavelength that is typically used to remove hair in the nose, the ears and the space between the eyebrows.
We do not apply this procedure on the eyebrows as it entails a risk because the upper lid skin is very light and it may be burned easily.
6. Is light color hair more difficult to eliminate?
This is correct, Blonde hair does not have enough pigment to attract the laser’s heat. Our diode technology 810nm does not cover that type of hair color. Alexandrite Laser works at a higher intensity than traditional lasers.
Initial valuation by the specialist will determine your needs and the scope of our treatment.
7. Can I be exposed to the sun, UVA rays or apply tanned lotion?

8. What type of preparation do I need to have before the session?
In the first consultation the specialist will evaluate your skin and hair, thus patients must not wax.

A clean skin without makeup, deodorants or any other type of cream or anesthetic is mandatory when preparing for the procedure.
9. Does hair disappear forever?
Hair won´t disappear forever as this is a permanent but not definitive solution. Some left over hair may appear again in time.
